May 2010 - I have long wanted to visit this place based on some wonderful photographs
I have seen. When I arrived it was pouring with rain, but after about an hour’s
wait in the car the sun started to break through the clouds to give just enough golden
light. Elgol, a small fishing village, lies towards the end of the Strathaird peninsula
on the Isle of Skye. It is reached by a long and sometimes narrow road that takes
you through some of the most dramatic landscapes on the island. Once you have arrived,
the view from Elgol across Loch Scavaig towards the Black Cullins is magnificent,
especially when the weather provides a moody sky and light
