Landscape Photography Courses
If you are new to digital photography or need help getting to grips with some of
the more technical aspects of your camera or editing software, my photography courses
provide a personal and informal way of improving your skills.
My courses...
- are one-to-one - allowing you to focus on areas of improvement that are important
to you
- are designed for people interested in landscape photography in Sussex
- are good for complete beginners or those wishing to move beyond the basics
- allow you to use your own photography equipment or experiment with mine
- involve a mix of on location photography and image editing software eg Photoshop
- are fun, informal and aimed at your current level of ability and knowledge
Course Outline
Although each course will be tailored to your needs, here are some of the areas that

Taking Photographs...
- Camera modes - using aperture priority and manual mode to control depth of field
and exposure
- Selecting the correct ISO setting
- Shooting RAW - what are the benefits?
- Setting up and using a tripod and remote release
- How to focus and what to focus on
- How to meter correctly for the scene to get the correct exposure
- Composition
- Using a graduated ND filter to balance light
- Using a polarising filter
- Using ND filters for long exposures
Editing Photographs...
- Working with RAW files - correcting exposure and white balance problems
- Blending exposures using layer masks
- Selection techniques
- Sharpening techniques
- Preparing images for the web
- Preparing images for print
- Straightening horizons
- Removing dust spots
- Adjustment layers
- Monitor calibration

Equipment
To make the most of your course bring along:
- Appropriate clothing
- Your DSLR
- Any lenses you have
- Any filters you have
- Tripod and remote release if you have them - if not use mine
- Enough memory and battery power to last the day
- Your laptop and favoured image editing software - or use mine.
